The user accounts have several key functions they perform. First it keeps people from making commits / posts, with the "Anonymous" status. Further, it allows you to select an "Avatar", a little graphic under your name in the forums section. Gives the site a little more flavor.

It is very easy. Simply locate the tool bar on the top of the Page. There are six buttons on the bar, second from the last is the "Create an Account" button. Just click on that, under the heading "New User" Type in your "Nickname" which will be your login name, and an email. The password will be sent to that address within, 5-10 minutes. Once you have it, click on Create an Account, the top of that page is the login section.

The logins & passwords are case sensitive. If your login is Larry, and you are typing larry, you will get a login error. So type your EXACT login / password in the login screen. If you don't like your password, simply login using the login block on the right side of the screen or the Create an Account button on the toolbar. Now, on the tool bar is the "Your Account" button. Simply click on that. There you can change your user info, can your avatar (little forum graphic) and you can change password.

I deal with users everyday who have poor passwords. One of the best way to protect yourself is to always have good passwords. My password generator is very good. However if you want a 'simply' / 'easy' password (not a good idea), simply login using the login block on the right side of the screen or the Create an Account button on the toolbar. Now, on the tool bar is the "Your Account" button. Simply click on that. There you can change your user info, can your avatar (little forum graphic) and you can change password.
