Mount Holly Referendum set for June 3, 2025

I'm sure you may be aware of the recent developments in the city of Mount Holly but I wanted to encourage everyone to "get out the vote!"

June 3, 2025 will be a big day for both the residents of Mount Holly and the Community of Runnymeade. Mount Holly residents will vote on two issues...a 5 million dollar bond referendum and alcohol sales in the city limits. The bond referendum is important to Runnymeade. Half of the monies, should the measure pass, will go to creating the Dutchman's Creek Greenway. If you looked carefully at the map placed on your door a few weeks ago it appears that greenway will have a "stop" in Runnymeade. We are boardered by Dutchman's Creek along the south side and it appears that Greenway will come up to Lantana under the southern Duke Power Lines. I was unable to attend the town meeting last Thursday to confirm that but have placed a few calls to be sure. I'll update you when I hear. Regardless of how you feel about the greenway proposal (or the alcohol vote) this referendum is important to our property values and way of life in Mount Holly. For or against either measure, they will have a significant impact on your property values. I encourage you to not sit at home and let someone else decide your fate. Whether your vote be "yes" or "no" to the referendum (and this is where the US History and government teacher in me comes out) exercise your right to be heard. Approximately 80% of the world's population doesn't have the ability to affect their own government, you do. So let's get out there and do it! See you at the polls! Judy Moore VP, Runnymeade HOA
